supportive nutrition – omega-3
Do we need to supplement? The common catch-cry of the medical community is that vitamins and minerals are adequately available from our food.
But as mentioned last week, the inconvenient reality is that food simply isn’t what it used to be! The marvel of modern agriculture has robbed our soils of essential minerals and consequently, our plants are deficient in these nutrients also. So even if you do eat a healthy, varied diet, you will still be missing some vital minerals and vitamins.
A reasonable option is therefore to supplement (in conjunction with a healthy diet of course). However, when confronted with the barrage of supplements available on the market, it is difficult to discern what supplements are necessary and indeed whether natural or synthetic supplements are appropriate for your individual needs.
Supplements may be natural food derivatives or laboratory manufactured. The majority of vitamins that are sold in pharmacies, and supermarkets, are synthetic vitamins, which are only isolated portions of the vitamins that occur naturally in food. Vitamins and minerals in nature do not exist as single components that act on their own, they are made up of several different components – enzymes, co-enzymes, and co-factors– that must work together to produce their intended effects. In this context natural supplements are far superior to their synthetic counterparts, which is why we have teamed up with Puori which provide the purest, organic supplements available today. Their products are naturally produced, scientifically proven and are designed to improve health and athletic performance.
Omega-3 is essential for cell membrane permeability, allowing messages into the cell and waste out from the cell resulting in increased cellular heath.
Essential fatty acids are so called because they are just that – essential to life! We cannot manufacture these within our body, so we have to rely on getting what we need from our diet.
Salmon, tuna, mackeral and halibut are all good sources of omega-3 fatty acids, but small deep sea fish like anchovies and sardines are superior as they have a shorter lifespan and therefore remain less toxic and are specifically high in eicosapentaenic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) which are the omega-3 fats that offer the most health benefits.
Puori O3 separates itself from competition as it’s an omega-3 product designed by expert doctors and elite athletes from both Europe and the US. The results of their combined research and testing is a superior omega-3 product consisting of a 5:2 EPA:DHA ratio with extraordinary anti-infammatory benefits.

1) GREAT FOR THE HEART
EPA & DHA have been shown to decrease triglyceride levels, the growth rate of plaque that clogs blood vessels and lower blood pressure slightly.
2) GREAT FOR THE BRAIN
The human brain is extremely rich in DHA as well as other omega-3 fatty acids. Supplementation has been shown to maintain brain function.
3) GREAT FOR THE EYES
The human eye is extremely rich in DHA as well as other omega-3 fatty acids. Supplementation has been shown to maintain eye function.
4) IMPROVE OXYGEN DELIVERY
Omega-3 fatty acids help prevent inflammation of the blood vessels and formation of blood clots, making sure your nutrient and oxygen delivery functions at its best.
5) GREAT FOR HEALTH
Omega-3 fatty acids are powerful anti-inflammatory agents on a cellular level and are essential for health and well-being.
